OJK Journals apply a rigorous editorial and peer-review workflow to ensure scholarly excellence, ethical integrity, and thematic relevance. This process involves multiple editorial roles, including the Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editors, Section Editors, and peer reviewers.
Authors submit their manuscripts via the online submission platform. This marks the formal entry point into the editorial workflow of the journal.
The Editor-in-Chief retains full editorial authority and overall responsibility for the academic integrity and direction of the journal. While day-to-day editorial operations are delegated to the Managing Editors and Section Editors, the EIC remains the final arbiter in cases involving ethical concerns, conflicting reviewer recommendations, or disputes requiring higher editorial judgment.
The Managing Editor conducts an initial assessment to determine whether the manuscript fits the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts outside the journal’s focus may be declined without further review.
If appropriate, the manuscript is assigned to a Section Editor based on subject expertise. The Section Editor manages the peer-review process.
The Section Editor evaluates compliance with the author guidelines and conducts a similarity check to ensure originality.
Two qualified reviewers are selected. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process where authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
Reviewers are invited and must confirm availability and disclose any conflicts of interest. Alternate reviewers may be assigned if necessary.
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on contribution, methodology, originality, and clarity. They provide structured reports with recommendations: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
The Section Editor synthesizes reviewer feedback and makes a recommendation. If opinions differ significantly, a third reviewer may be consulted.
In complex cases involving ethical issues or conflicting evaluations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision.
The decision is communicated to the author along with anonymized reviewer comments. Revision instructions are provided when necessary.
Authors revise the manuscript and submit a response letter. Revised submissions may undergo further review or editorial evaluation.
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency with journal standards.
The final manuscript is reviewed by the Language Center of Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UPT Bahasa UNJ) to ensure linguistic accuracy.
